书法家任宝涛的笔墨历练，很重视法度的习成，同时拥有笔墨遂心应手的表达境界，这是一种相当可贵的书法文化精神。如果书法只注意技法与技巧的琢磨，无有感情的注入，那么书法作品写出来就会显得匠气多，性灵少。任宝涛的书法作品，件件法度精研，又带着书以畅志的精气神，所以无有一丝半点的匠气，多是依书抒情的淋漓！不妨走进他的书法世界，一览这信手书成两三行，志在出新无定则的上品佳作。

当然，在诸书皆成的书法修养背景下，任宝涛大著其名的书法功勋，当属于他的草书创作。当代草书，有涂写乱书的流弊，不能传承书谱的价值观，也不能复作自叙帖的铁点银钩，这是书法缺少文化臻意的重要原因。反观任宝涛先生的草书作品，法度严谨，无可挑剔，写出了上下非齐平，左右非方整的灵动气象，可以在一划之间变起伏于锋杪，能够在一点之内殊衄挫于毫芒。笔法精妙，往往可以须臾扫尽数千张！唯有像任宝涛先生这样，在速度的加持下，才可以兴来畅豁胸中气，满壁纵横千万字！他的草书有怀素草书的空灵飘逸；犹其有黄庭坚的虬龙蜿蜒似鸾凤徘徊的洒脱自如；也充分融合了毛泽东主席的正气浩荡，依照畅志抒情的快意。

2019年5月其草书作品《贺新郎·读史》被中国国家博物馆收藏。观其作品，把草书遂心而兴，由志而达的本质艺术属性，表达得无以复加，成为当代草书作品里的和璧隋珠，有极为强烈的审美张力，也有相当卓越的文化魅力，被中国国家博物馆收藏郑重收藏，成为可以春秋相传的艺术臻品，创造了书法作品中的商彝夏鼎。其草书手不忘熟心不厌精，当然可以入藏国博功勋立鼎。

同时，在近几年的文化交流活动中，任宝涛先生的多幅书法作品先后被国内外多家机构收藏，其中2018年10月行书作品《曲礼·四语》被韩中文化交流振兴协会收藏；2019年1月行草书作品（南北朝）陆凯《赠范晔》被台湾文化博物馆收藏；2021年11月篆书作品《幽谷》被新西兰奥克兰国际艺术空间美术馆收藏；2022年2月行草书作品《王昌龄诗句》被日本东京琦玉美术馆收藏。2023年6月25日 作品在美国洛杉矶“大美中国第八届中美书画名家作品展”活动中进行参展。

Meanwhile, in the cultural exchange activities in recent years, many calligraphy works have been collected by many domestic and foreign institutions, among which in October 2018, the running script work "Four Words of Qu Li" was collected by Korean-China Cultural Exchange Revitalization Association; in January 2019, the cursive works (Northern and Southern Dynasties) were collected by Taiwan Culture Museum; in November 2021, the seal script work "You Valley" was collected by New Zealand Auckland International Art Space Museum; in February 2022, the cursive script work "Wang Changling verse" was collected by Qiyu Art Museum in Tokyo, Japan. On June 25,2023, the works were exhibited in the "8th Chinese-American Calligraphy and Painting Masters Exhibition" in Los Angeles.
